About Three River Kitchens

Based right here in our home city of Chelmsford serving the whole of Essex and with over 60 years of experience in the worlds of kitchen design, interior design, furniture and furnishings, we have sought to create a business where customer service is the focus, and where the quality of design, product and installation is the key to ensuring our customers are always happy.

We have chosen products that we feel have the level of quality that people should expect, whilst also having the flexibility to allow us to achieve almost any customer's dream kitchen design.

 

We focus on the customer experience - your experience - and strive to ensure you get not only a design you will love, full of products you’ll be proud to own but also that the whole process is as smooth and pain-free as possible. We want to be as proud of your new kitchen as you are.

 

We approach the business in as sustainable a way as possible, recycling and wisely choosing materials in the best way we can in consideration of our environment globally, locally and, most specifically, for your home.

 

We are also trying to be an ethical company in terms of how we deal with other businesses, how we deal with our staff and colleagues, how we deal with our customers, and how we interact with the world around us, specifically on a local level. One key element of this is our continuing support of local charitable endeavours, with a donation from each project going to the Mayor of Chelmsford’s chosen charities each year. Andy Poole - Creative Director

Starting out as a kitchen designer upon leaving education and quickly amassing awards, articles and extensive coverage for his work, Andy is passionate about design in all its forms and thrills at the challenge of a new space.

 

He has worked in this industry for over 22 years, designing both commercial and domestic interiors and truly loves designing spaces to improve the lives of others. He is proud to have been born and raised here in Essex.

 

Andy worked as Senior Design Consultant in Harrods, Knightsbridge, has run a local design studio to great acclaim and business success and has worked on a freelance basis as a designer for several major businesses.

 

Andy has also been lucky enough to be trained by some extraordinary designers. As well as receiving extensive training at Harrods, he has also worked with some of the largest and most respected companies in the world, including Miele, Pronorm, Gaggenau, Sub Zero/Wolf, Siematic, Poggenpohl, Underwoods, RWK, Loxleys, Cuisines Schmidt, Hacker, Nicholas Anthony, Cosentino, DuPont, Samsung.

Gordon Long
Managing Director

Having worked in the Design and Interiors industry for the past 23 years, Gordon has a wealth of experience in new business development, structure and process. In 2010 he moved to the Middle East to set up a new contract furniture company from London.

 

Over the next 8 years, this business grew rapidly, but steadily and became one of the pioneering furniture companies in the market. He delivered projects throughout the MENA region for many well-known brands in industries ranging from finance and petrochemical through to some of the big tech giants and even many government projects. When he left Dubai in 2018 the business had 40 staff and was turning over £5.5 million.


Since leaving Dubai in 2018, Gordon continues to work periodically as a consultant for several large furniture companies, helping to deliver projects in challenging regions throughout the Middle East and Africa. Most recently he completed a large government project, part of the PIF in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In the UK, Gordon and his business partner Iain Large run several companies within the property sector, as both landlords and developers.

Iain Large
Operations Director

Iain has worked around architecture, design & construction industries for 23 years, initially within the publishing industry, before working on large-scale events.

 

Iain was on the launch team for the Grand Designs Live events in London and Birmingham; launched the country's largest building event, UK Construction Week; and worked on household name events like the Ideal Home Show and the biggest architecture & design event in the country, 100% Design.

 

He is used to working to hard deadlines, across multiple teams delivering huge events with hundreds of exhibitors for hundreds of thousands of visitors.

 

Iain and Gordon have owned and managed property together for 20 years, forming their first limited company together in 2013. In 2017 they formed a construction company Connection Construction Ltd with a builder partner.

 

They have since built houses for their own portfolio, to sell with investment partners and for other developer clients, while delivering many domestic projects for clients in between their own developments.
